A Pinterest image downloader that saves the original full-resolution file

SnapSave is a free Pinterest image downloader that saves any public Pin as a clean, full-resolution JPG or PNG, with no watermark and no Pinterest overlay. Paste a Pin link into the box at the top of this page, press Download, and the original image lands on your device. No app, no account, and nothing stamped across the picture.

People open an image downloader for everyday reasons: pulling a photo into a mood board, keeping a design reference before it gets unpinned, or filing away a recipe card to read later. The catch with Pinterest is that the picture you see in the app or on the site is a compressed preview, scaled down to load fast in your feed. SnapSave reads the Pin link you paste and fetches the original behind it instead.

That original is the full-resolution image Pinterest stores on its own servers, the sharp version the creator first uploaded. SnapSave hands it back as a ready JPG (or PNG when that is the source), clean and unmarked, to save for a board, a reference, or a print. It works only with public Pins. Use it to save your own Pins or other public images you have the right to keep, for personal use, and do not republish or sell other people’s images without permission.

How it works

How to download a Pinterest image in three steps

From a Pin link to a saved, full-resolution file in well under a minute, with no software to install and no sign-up.

Step 01

Copy the Pin link

On a Pin, tap the share icon and choose Copy link, or open the Pin in your browser and copy the URL from the address bar. A short pin.it link works just as well.

Step 02

Paste it into SnapSave

Drop the link into the box at the top of this page and press Download. SnapSave opens the Pin and finds the original image stored behind the preview.

Step 03

Save the full-resolution image

Save the clean JPG or PNG at its original size, with no Pinterest logo and no overlay. The file goes straight to your phone or computer.

What you can download

Every kind of Pin you can save

One box reads the link and works out what is inside, a single image, an Idea Pin with several photos, a video, or an animated GIF, then offers the right download for it.

Image Pins in full resolution

Save a single image Pin as the original JPG or PNG, the sharp file the creator uploaded, not the compressed preview Pinterest shows in your feed. No watermark, no Pinterest overlay.

Video Pins

Found a video Pin instead of a still image? Save it as a clean MP4 in the best quality Pinterest holds, with the dedicated tool built for moving Pins.

GIFs

Some Pins are animated. Save a Pinterest GIF as a looping file that keeps its motion, ready to drop into a chat or a board, using the GIF tool.

Private by design

We don’t log your links or keep your images

Plenty of Pinterest downloaders quietly keep a record of every link that is pasted into them. SnapSave does not work that way. There is no account to sign into, no list of the Pins you have saved, and no copy of your image left sitting on a server.

When you paste a Pin link, SnapSave pulls the original image from Pinterest’s own servers and passes it to your device. The link only lives long enough to prepare the download, then it is gone, no upload step, nothing parked on a disk, and no log with your name attached.

No account, no history, no stored files. Your Pin link is used only to prepare the download and is discarded the moment it completes.

Formats & quality

Supported Pinterest formats and resolutions

You get the original file Pinterest stores, not the shrunken preview, with no re-encoding and never a watermark added.

Source on Pinterest What SnapSave gives you Quality
Pinterest image Pin JPG, no watermark Original, full resolution
High-res photo Pin PNG, no watermark Original
Multi-image Idea Pin JPG (each image) Original
Video Pin MP4 (use the video tool) Best Pinterest holds
Found a moving Pin rather than a still one? SnapSave has separate tools for those: save clips with the Pinterest video downloader and animations with the Pinterest GIF downloader. Whatever the format, save public Pins for personal use and respect the creator who made them.

Tips

Get a clean, full-size Pinterest image every time

Most downloads work first try. A few small habits sort out the ones that don’t.

Copy the link from the share icon

Open the Pin, tap the share icon, then Copy link. On the web, copy the URL from the address bar. A short pin.it link works just as well as the full pinterest.com one.

You get the original, not the preview

The image you see in the feed is a compressed preview, scaled down to load quickly. SnapSave skips that and pulls the full-resolution file Pinterest stores behind it, so what you save is the sharp original.

JPG or PNG depends on the source

SnapSave saves the image in the format Pinterest holds. Most photos come back as JPG, while graphics and screenshots often arrive as PNG. Either way it is the original, with no quality lost in the trip.

An Idea Pin holds several images

An Idea Pin can stack several photos on a single Pin. Paste its link and SnapSave lists each image so you can save the one you want, or all of them, each at its original size.

SnapSave only works with public Pins

The downloader fetches images from public Pins and public boards. If a Pin sits on a secret board or a Pinterest account you do not have access to, SnapSave cannot open it, by design.

If a download stalls, refresh and retry

A dropped connection happens. Reload the page, paste the Pin link again, and most stalled downloads finish on the second go. Nothing half-finished is kept, so a retry is always safe.

Why SnapSave

What makes SnapSave a better Pinterest image downloader

The original file at full resolution, in the right format, with no account and no record of what you save.

The original, not the preview

SnapSave reaches past the compressed thumbnail in your feed and pulls the full-resolution image Pinterest stores, so your save is as sharp as the day it was pinned.

No watermark, no overlay

Your image comes back clean, no Pinterest logo, no save button burned in, no SnapSave stamp. Just the picture itself, exactly as the creator uploaded it.

JPG and PNG, kept as-is

SnapSave saves each Pin in the format Pinterest holds, JPG for photos, PNG for graphics, with no re-encode and no resize. The file you get is the source file.

Idea Pins, every image

Multi-image Idea Pins are listed image by image, so you can grab one photo or the whole set, instead of being stuck with just the cover.

Works on every device

iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows, Mac, Linux and Chromebook, any modern browser, with no app and no extension to maintain.

Free, unlimited, no sign-up

No daily limit, no email, no locked features and no account. Save one image or fifty, the Pinterest downloader stays free.

Step by step

How to download Pinterest images on any device

The routine is the same everywhere, copy, paste, save. Only the place the file lands changes.

iPhone & iPad iOS

Tap the share icon on the Pin and choose Copy link, open SnapSave in Safari, paste, and download. The image saves to Files › Downloads. To move it into your camera roll, open it in Files, tap share, and choose Save Image.

Android Chrome

Tap the share icon, choose Copy link, open SnapSave in Chrome, paste, and tap download. The image shows up in your Downloads notification and folder, and most gallery apps pick it up on their own.

Windows PC

Open the Pin on pinterest.com, copy the URL from the address bar, paste it into SnapSave, and click download. The image lands in your default Downloads folder, usually C:UsersYourNameDownloads.

Mac macOS

Same as Windows, copy the URL, paste, download. The JPG or PNG saves to ~/Downloads, and SnapSave works in Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Brave and Arc.

Chromebook & Linux

Identical steps: open the Pin, copy, paste, download. Images save to your Downloads folder and show up in the Files app on Chromebook or your file manager on Linux.

Where we draw the line

What SnapSave won’t do

A downloader should be a handy tool, not a way around someone’s rights. A few things stay off the table on purpose.

Touch secret boards or private Pins

SnapSave only fetches images from public Pins and public boards. If a Pin sits on a secret board or an account you do not have access to, it stays off-limits. Getting around access controls is what harms creators and gets downloaders blocked.

Bulk-rip whole boards

Each download is one paste of one public Pin. SnapSave is not a board scraper and won’t be bent into one.

Hold on to your downloads

The image travels from Pinterest to your device. Nothing stays with us, so there is nothing to “delete later”, it was never kept.

Ask for your Pinterest password

SnapSave never needs your login or your account. If a Pinterest downloader wants you to sign in, close the tab.

Add tracking or a watermark

The JPG or PNG you save is the original image as Pinterest stored it, nothing added, nothing altered, and certainly no SnapSave stamp.

Help you reuse images you don’t own

Images on Pinterest belong to the people who made them. Saving someone else’s photo, graphic or design to republish or sell, without permission, is not what this is for. Keep it to your own Pins, public-domain images, or pictures you are allowed to use.

FAQ

Pinterest image downloader, frequently asked questions

Is SnapSave free to use?

Yes. SnapSave is a free Pinterest image downloader with unlimited downloads, no signup, no email, no premium tier and no daily cap. A few light ads keep the service going.

Do I need an app or to sign in?

Neither. SnapSave runs in your web browser, so there is no app, no extension and no software to install, and it never asks for your Pinterest login.

How does SnapSave get the full-resolution image?

The picture you see in the feed is a compressed preview, scaled down so the page loads fast. SnapSave reads the Pin and fetches the original full-resolution file Pinterest keeps on its servers behind that preview, then hands it to you as a clean JPG or PNG.

Is it legal to download Pinterest images?

It depends on the image. Saving pictures you created, images in the public domain, or photos you have the owner’s permission to use is generally fine. The images on Pinterest belong to their creators, so downloading someone else’s picture to republish or sell it without permission is not okay. Save for personal use, for mood boards and references, and you are responsible for respecting copyright and Pinterest’s Terms of Service.

What format do the images come in?

SnapSave saves each Pin in the format Pinterest holds. Most photos come back as JPG, while graphics, logos and screenshots often arrive as PNG. In both cases it is the original file at full resolution, with no watermark.

Which Pins can I download?

Any public Pin: single image Pins, the photos inside an Idea Pin, high-resolution graphics, and more. Pins on secret boards or private accounts are not supported, by design.

Can I download all the images from an Idea Pin?

Yes. An Idea Pin can hold several photos. Paste its link and SnapSave lists each image so you can save just one or the whole set, each at its original size.

Can I download a Pinterest video?

Yes, with the right tool. This page is for still images; for moving Pins, use the Pinterest video downloader to save the clip as an MP4, or the Pinterest GIF downloader for animations.

Can SnapSave download private or secret-board Pins?

No. SnapSave only downloads images from public Pins. Pins on secret boards, private accounts, or anything that needs a login to view are not supported, by design.

How do I save a Pinterest image on iPhone?

Tap the share icon on the Pin, choose Copy link, open SnapSave in Safari, paste, and download. The image goes to Files › Downloads. To add it to your Photos, open it in Files, tap share, and choose Save Image.

How do I save a Pinterest image on Android?

Tap the share icon, choose Copy link, open SnapSave in Chrome, paste, and tap download. The image lands in your Downloads folder and usually appears in your Gallery.

Where do my downloads go?

On iPhone and iPad, Files › Downloads. On Android, your Downloads folder. On Windows, C:UsersYourNameDownloads. On Mac, Linux and Chromebook, ~/Downloads.

Does SnapSave keep a download history?

No. There are no accounts and no history. Your Pin link is used only to fetch the image, and nothing about your download is stored on our side.
