A Pinterest video downloader that saves the real MP4

SnapSave is a free Pinterest video downloader that saves video Pins and Idea Pins as clean MP4 files, with the sound included and no watermark. Paste a Pin link into the box at the top of this page, pick a quality up to Full HD or 4K, and the download starts. No app, no account, and nothing stamped across your video.

People open a video downloader for everyday reasons: keeping a clip to watch offline, saving a Pin before the board owner moves it, or filing a recipe or how-to away for later. The catch with Pinterest is that a video Pin plays from a streaming source, so there is no simple save button on the Pin itself. SnapSave reads the Pin link you paste and hands back the original MP4.

Because Pinterest streams its videos, a plain right-click or long-press tends to grab a thumbnail or a stub, not the clip. SnapSave fetches the actual MP4 straight from Pinterest’s own servers, at the best quality the Pin stored, up to Full HD or 4K, with the audio in step. It works only with public Pins. Use it to save your own Pins, content in the public domain, or other public Pins you have the right to keep.

How it works

How to download a Pinterest video in three steps

From a Pin link to a saved MP4 in well under a minute, no software to install and no sign-up.

Step 01

Copy the Pin link

Open the video Pin or Idea Pin, tap the share icon and choose Copy link. On the web, copy the URL straight from your browser’s address bar.

Step 02

Paste it into SnapSave

Drop the link into the box at the top of this page and press Download. SnapSave reads the Pin and lists every quality it can give you.

Step 03

Choose a quality and save

Pick the MP4 in the resolution you want, up to Full HD or 4K, with the sound included. The file saves straight to your phone or computer.

What you can download

Every kind of Pin you can save

One box reads the link and works out what’s inside, a video Pin, a multi-page Idea Pin, a still image, or an animated GIF, then offers the right download for it.

Video Pins & Idea Pins

Save ordinary video Pins and multi-page Idea Pins as clean MP4 files, up to 4K, with the sound kept in step and no watermark added.

Images

Only after a still Pin? Save the full-size original image instead of a small preview, ready to keep, print, or reuse where you have the right.

GIFs

Grab an animated GIF Pin as a smooth MP4, the format that plays everywhere and keeps the motion looking clean on any device.

Private by design

We don’t log your links or keep your videos

Plenty of Pinterest downloaders quietly keep a record of every link that’s pasted into them. SnapSave doesn’t work that way. There’s no account to sign into, no list of what you’ve saved, and no copy of your file left sitting on a server.

When you paste a Pin link, SnapSave pulls the video from Pinterest’s own servers and passes it to your device. The link only lives long enough to prepare the download, then it’s gone, no upload step, nothing parked on a disk, and no log with your name attached.

No account, no history, no stored files. Your link is used only to prepare the download and is discarded the moment it completes.

Formats & quality

Supported Pinterest formats and resolutions

What the Pin stored is what comes back down, no re-encoding, no shrinking, and never a watermark added.

Source on Pinterest What SnapSave gives you Quality
Video Pin MP4 (H.264 / AAC), with sound Up to source, Full HD, 4K
Idea Pin (video) MP4 (H.264 / AAC), with sound Original
Image Pin JPG image Original
GIF Pin MP4 Original
Only after a still or an animation? SnapSave saves those too. Use the dedicated Pinterest image downloader for full-size photos and the Pinterest GIF downloader for animated Pins, just keep it to your own Pins, public-domain content, or media you have the right to save.

Tips

Get a clean Pinterest download every time

Most downloads work first try. A few small habits sort out the ones that don’t.

Copy the link from the share icon

Open the Pin, tap the share icon → Copy link. On the web, copy the URL from the address bar. A short pin.it link works just as well as the full pinterest.com one.

You get the file, not a screen capture

Because the Pin streams, a long-press or right-click usually grabs a thumbnail. SnapSave fetches the real MP4 from Pinterest’s servers, so your download is the actual video with its sound.

HD and 4K depend on the upload

SnapSave always offers the sharpest version the Pin holds, but it can’t go past what was uploaded. If the source clip is 720p, then 720p is the ceiling, no tool can add detail that was never there.

SnapSave only works with public Pins

The downloader fetches Pins that are public on Pinterest. If a Pin sits on a private or secret board, SnapSave can’t open it, by design. Stick to public video Pins and Idea Pins.

If a download stalls, refresh and retry

A dropped connection happens. Reload the page, paste the link again, and most stalled downloads finish on the second go. Nothing half-finished is kept, so a retry is always safe.

Why SnapSave

What makes SnapSave a better Pinterest video downloader

One tool for every kind of Pin, at full quality, with no account and no record of what you save.

Every kind of Pin

Video Pins, Idea Pins, images and GIFs from one box, not the video-only trick most Pinterest downloaders settle for.

No watermark, original quality

Your file comes back the way it was stored, no logo, no overlay, no resize and no re-encode. Just the clean MP4.

Up to 4K with the sound intact

SnapSave grabs the top resolution the Pin stored and keeps the audio in step, so your download plays exactly like the original.

Free, unlimited, no sign-up

No daily limit, no email, no locked features and no account. Save one Pin or fifty, the Pinterest downloader stays free.

Works on every device

iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows, Mac, Linux and Chromebook, any modern browser, with no app and no extension to maintain.

Handles Idea Pins too

Multi-page Idea Pins, long clips and animated GIFs, the cases where lighter Pinterest tools tend to give up or hand back only the cover.

Step by step

How to download Pinterest videos on any device

The routine is the same everywhere, copy, paste, download. Only the place the file lands changes.

iPhone & iPad iOS

Tap the share icon → Copy link in the Pinterest app, open SnapSave in Safari, paste, and download. The file saves to Files → Downloads. To move a clip into your camera roll, open it in Files, tap share, and choose Save Video.

Android Chrome

Tap the share icon → Copy link, open SnapSave in Chrome, paste, and tap download. The file shows up in your Downloads notification and folder, and most gallery apps pick it up on their own.

Windows PC

Open the Pin on pinterest.com, copy the URL from the address bar, paste it into SnapSave, and click download. The file lands in your default Downloads folder, usually C:UsersYourNameDownloads.

Mac macOS

Same as Windows, copy the URL, paste, download. The MP4 saves to ~/Downloads, and SnapSave works in Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Brave and Arc.

Chromebook & Linux

Identical steps: open the Pin, copy, paste, download. Files save to your Downloads folder and show up in the Files app on Chromebook or your file manager on Linux.

Where we draw the line

What SnapSave won’t do

A downloader should be a handy tool, not a way around someone’s rights. A few things stay off the table on purpose.

Touch private or secret boards

SnapSave only fetches Pins that are public on Pinterest. If a Pin sits on a private or secret board, it stays off-limits. Getting around access controls is what harms creators and gets downloaders blocked.

Bulk-rip whole boards

Each download is one paste of one public Pin. SnapSave isn’t a board scraper and won’t be bent into one.

Hold on to your downloads

The file travels from Pinterest to your device. Nothing stays with us, so there’s nothing to “delete later”, it was never kept.

Ask for your Pinterest password

SnapSave never needs your login or your account. If a Pinterest downloader wants you to sign in, close the tab.

Add tracking or a watermark

The MP4 you save is the original media as Pinterest stored it, nothing added, nothing altered, and certainly no SnapSave stamp.

Help you reuse content you don’t own

Saving someone else’s Pin to republish or sell, without permission, isn’t what this is for. Many Pins show licensed photography or music, keep it to your own Pins, public-domain content, or media you’re allowed to save.

FAQ

Pinterest video downloader, frequently asked questions

Is SnapSave free to use?

Yes. SnapSave is a free Pinterest video downloader with unlimited downloads, no signup, no email, no premium tier and no daily cap. A few light ads keep the service going.

Do I need an app or to sign in?

Neither. SnapSave runs in your web browser, so there’s no app, no extension and no software to install, and it never asks for your Pinterest login.

How does SnapSave download a video that Pinterest streams?

A video Pin plays from a streaming source, so there’s no plain save button and a long-press tends to grab only a thumbnail. SnapSave reads the Pin, finds the actual MP4 on Pinterest’s own servers, and hands you that file at the best quality the Pin stored, with the sound included.

Is it legal to download Pinterest videos?

It depends on the Pin. Saving content you created, Pins in the public domain, or videos you have the owner’s permission to download is generally fine. Downloading or re-sharing someone else’s copyrighted video without permission is not, and SnapSave isn’t meant for that. You’re responsible for respecting copyright, the creator’s rights and Pinterest’s Terms of Service.

Which Pins can I save?

Public ones. SnapSave works with public video Pins and Idea Pins, plus image and GIF Pins. Anything on a private or secret board, or anything that needs a login to view, isn’t supported, by design.

Can I download Pinterest videos in HD or 4K?

Yes, up to whatever was uploaded. SnapSave offers the highest resolution that particular Pin holds, up to Full HD or 4K, and keeps the audio in sync, so the download plays just like the original.

What format do downloads come in?

Video Pins and Idea Pins save as standard MP4 (H.264 video, AAC audio), which plays on every device and in every editor, CapCut, Premiere, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve. Image Pins save as JPG, and animated GIF Pins save as MP4.

Can I download a Pinterest image?

Yes. To save the full-size original photo from a still Pin rather than a small preview, use the dedicated Pinterest image downloader.

Can I download an Idea Pin?

Yes. Paste an Idea Pin link and SnapSave saves its video as a clean MP4 with the sound included. Idea Pins can hold several pages, so SnapSave gives you the video each page stored.

Can SnapSave download Pins from a private or secret board?

No. SnapSave only downloads public Pins. Pins on private or secret boards, and anything that needs a login to view, aren’t supported, by design.

How do I download a Pinterest video on iPhone?

Tap the share icon → Copy link in the Pinterest app, open SnapSave in Safari, paste, and save. The file goes to Files → Downloads; for some videos the free Documents app by Readdle makes saving smoother.

How do I download a Pinterest video on Android?

Tap the share icon → Copy link, open SnapSave in Chrome, paste, and tap download. The file lands in your Downloads folder or Gallery.

Where do my downloads go?

On iPhone and iPad, Files → Downloads. On Android, your Downloads folder. On Windows, C:UsersYourNameDownloads. On Mac, Linux and Chromebook, ~/Downloads.

Does SnapSave keep a download history?

No. There are no accounts and no history. Your link is used only to fetch the file, and nothing about your download is stored on our side.
